Can Matías Bar Zamora
About This Spot
Stepping into Can Matías Bar Zamora feels like entering a cherished corner of Vilassar de Mar where time slows just enough to savor good company and honest food. Nestled along Carrer Jeroni Marsal, this bar and grill welcomes you with a rhythm that is both unhurried and alive, a space where locals settle in for leisurely conversations over familiar, comforting dishes.
The atmosphere is warm and unpretentious, marked by a blend of bustling energy and relaxed ease. There’s a steady hum of voices in the background, punctuated by the clinking of glasses and the inviting aromas that drift from the kitchen. It’s the kind of place where the crowd ebbs and flows, voices overlapping without losing intimacy — a neighborhood spot where everyone soon feels part of the story.
Food at Can Matías is at the heart of the experience, crafted in the spirit of tradition but without fuss. The kitchen serves up generous plates meant to be shared and savored, from tender, well-seasoned bites that invite slow bites and smiles to the sort of hearty fare that lingers in your memory long after the meal ends. Whether you’re drawn to the fresh seafood or the rustic warmth of a grilled chuletón, there’s a palpable sense of care and familiarity woven into every dish, making the meal feel like a shared celebration rather than just nourishment.
The service mirrors this approach: attentive yet relaxed, warm without ceremony. Here, you’re not just a customer but a participant in a quietly joyful ritual — slowing down, connecting with flavors and faces, and discovering the local pulse. The owner’s genuine welcome and easy friendliness add a layer of belonging that visitors notice and locals take for granted.
In a town by the sea, Can Matías Bar Zamora stands out as a modest beacon of genuine hospitality — an inviting retreat where the everyday transforms into a moment worth lingering over, whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or settling down for a long afternoon. It’s a place where the deliciously familiar meets the spontaneous discovery, and every visit feels like coming home.

Great place to discover. We walked from the train station, about 10 minutes. €13.50 for a menu del dia with wide choice. Home made and very friendly. We asked for a white and a red wine with our meal and were offered a bottle each.

Good food and service for more than a reasonable price. Increased price from 10 to 12 euros, but still worth it. Over crowded and had to wait almost half and hour!!!
